Pubs and Bars
Traditional pubs and modern bars abound within walking distance of Crawford House.
Here are a few of our favorites. Most offer food or light bites.
The Dunvegan - famous golf pub with golf memorabilia on the walls and ceilings
The Keys - whisky bar and local hangout with dozens of whiskys packed in the small pub
The Central Bar - students and visitors pack this traditional pub
The Road Hole - pricey, but worth the stunning views at the top of Old Course Hotel
The Criterion - best meat pies in town with a mix of locals and visitors
The Whey Pat Inn - sports pub with plenty of locals. Try the haggis nachos
The R Bar - in the Russacks Hotel on the 18th green. Pricey but worth the views.
The Jigger Inn - Literally on the Old Course 17th fairway. Can't beat the view on a nice day.
St Andrews Brewing - South St location has large selection of beer and sprits and revamped food menu.

New Pubs and Restaurants
BrewDog - Opened September 2019
A great new addition arrived on South Street, the BrewDog bar and restaurant. Owned by the BrewDog brewery, headquartered up the road in Aberdeen, several locations have opened in Scotland, England and Europe over the last year, including in the Edinburgh airport, Edinburgh and Stirling.
BrewDog features about 20 beer taps with several of their own and a few guest brews in a variety of styles. They also serve wine, spirits, and beer drinks. Their menu has several vegan options as well as traditional bar favorites such as wings, burgers, and salads. Try the Zombie Cake stout for a unique taste sensation or buy a few cans of Punk IPA to put in the fridge.
